Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
